EJ'S TRAINING CAMP
30+ HOURS OF BRUTAL RIDES & RACE SIMS

EJ Trains kicks off the 2024 season with Pacific Office Automation’s team camp in Arizona, escaping the rain for a sun-filled week of training. With 30+ hours of riding planned, the team faces grueling endurance rides, race simulations, and hill repeats. From long hours in the saddle to early morning activations and stretching, every moment is designed to push them to peak performance. The team splits into two houses, building camaraderie and competition, with daily challenges designed to mimic race-day efforts.Day one starts with a 96-mile ride, including intervals up the infamous Usery Pass. The squad tackles multiple hill repeats at tempo and threshold, fine-tuning their climbing form and pacing. As the week progresses, the intensity ramps up—team time trials pit house against house, with full-gas efforts on 9 Mile Hill and a grueling South Mountain climb. Despite mechanicals and setbacks, morale stays high, fueled by strong performances and a deep competitive spirit. The final endurance ride rounds out the week, but a stomach bug sidelines EJ on the last day. Even so, the camp proves invaluable, setting the stage for a strong season ahead. Next up: Valley of the Sun, the first big race of the year!
