Ted King takes us back to Belgium and the cobbled Classics that define spring.

The Races We Keep Coming Back To

Before the season turns fully toward July, we’re looking back at one of our favorite parts of the cycling calendar: the cobbled Classics.

In this KAV Journal feature, Ted King returns to Belgium years after racing Flanders to experience the race from the other side of the barriers. He rides the bergs, revisits the Koppenberg, watches the race unfold from the roadside, and reconnects with the culture that makes spring in Northern Europe unlike anything else in cycling.

It is part travel film, part race reflection, and part reminder that the Classics are not just about results. They are about place, weather, memory, ritual, and roads that never really leave you.

Part one follows Ted through Flanders. Part two continues to Paris-Roubaix.
