-
Safety Reimagined: 3D printing enables us to create a crumple zone within the helmet that can compress almost 3x more than traditional helmets.
-
Beyond the Norm: The Kaze surpasses the US Helmet Safety Standards (CPSC) by over 50% across cold, hot, wet and ambient impacts.
-
Outperform the Heat: The KAV PolyCarbon Composite material naturally wicks heat 8x better + cools 2x faster than EPS foam.
- Durable by Design: Say goodbye to traditional EPS foam helmets that degrade with sun exposure. Our helmets, made with PolyCarbon Composite, are UV stable, ensuring safety performance that doesn't diminish over time. Thats why we provide an industry best 5 Year Warranty & 100% Crash Replacement guarantee.
- Design & Innovation Award Winner: Road Equipment “The future of helmets”
- Crafted in the USA: The only domestic helmet brand.
Custom in Four Steps:
Step 1: Your custom helmet begins with a Sizing Kit which you receive either after purchase of the Portola or you can order a complimentary one via the Sizing Kit page on our site.
Step 2: We schedule a virtual one-on-one fit session to establish your custom helmet measurements. The virtual fit session itself takes about 15 minutes. During the session we’ll take 7 measurements.
Step 3: The next day, we'll ship you a mold of your head. The mold reflects the fit of the helmet and gives you a chance to make any adjustments if you need to.
Step 4: After we get your thumbs up, we’ll make your helmet. No pressure points or dials to adjust. The best, Made For You
90-Day: Full Refund Guarantee
Test your new helmet that was customized to your exact measurements in the most rigorous conditions. Push the boundaries and ride hard. If within 90 days, you don't agree that our helmet is the best fitting you've ever experienced, we'll give you a full refund (or product swap).
100% Crash Replacement Program
Our crash replacement program has you covered. You receive a one-time 100% replacement of the same model during your entire five year warranty. Just send your helmet back to us so we can analyze it and make improvements if needed.
5 Year Warranty
We have the best warranty in the industry. Other brands offer one year limited coverage and say you need to replace a helmet every three years, not us! Every 3D printed bike helmet is covered by a five-year warranty from the date of purchase.
Rear Catch™
Our latest feature designed for the modern cyclist. Beyond the unparalleled custom fit of our helmets, this optional 3D-printed add-on brings an added grip for those intense rides and a graceful way for long-haired riders to reduce tangles.
For our valued existing customers, this lightweight and flexible add-on can be snugly secured to the rear of your custom-fit helmet. Claim yours here at no added cost. Those new to our helmets will find it included in their order, ready to be tested on the roads.
How #wefitdifferent
HEX HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE™
No MIPS Necessary:
3D printing enables us to create a crumple zone that can compress almost 3x more than traditional helmets.
This structure allows the helmet to shear when needed or compress when needed based on the impact eliminating the need for both MIPS or an extra layer.
Custom Fit & MADE for you
Every KAV helmet is made to order and begins with your seven unique measurements. Each helmet begins with a one-on-one fit session to take your exact measurements, and is 3D printed to order in Redwood City, California.
The whole process from order to delivery of your custom helmet takes as little as two weeks + shipping.
SAFETY: THIS IS OUR MISSION
Whereas most companies outsource all their testing, we have our own test lab and utilize a network of 3rd party test labs to verify the results.
Without the constraints of styrofoam, we use our KAV PolyCarbon Composite, Hex Honeycomb Structure, and fit pad system to holistically reduce linear and rotational impacts by 50% more than the U.S. CPSC safety standards.
